Last day of the year.

Okay, I'm well aware that I should chage my blog name..But well, eveyr youthful yo!
Haha.

In this last moment of the year, I should indeed reflect on what I have and who are the best people I should have around me.

For the past 5 years, it has really been a wild roller coaster ride.
Our first major fight happened before one year of friendship..

Hmm, someway and another, it's kind of fated that we'll become friends even without the aid of Esther hur.
With some icky and whiny girl who was assigned to sit beside me during the recess break.

Over the years, you've changed to become so much more demure.
Though it puzzles me over the extent in which you have morphed, I wanna say I'm still very, very proud of everything you've become.

Riot.

Sorry for not blogging yet again.
I'm kind of adapted to a life without computer since whenever I reached home, 11pm/12am, my brother would still be using.
Moreover, by then, I would not have anymore energy to wait till he finish using it.

I feel super tired recently.
Perhaps it's due to me being too accomstomed to my own bed hence do not have a good sleep in Malaysia despite it being a 4 star hotel.

Back to lot 1 for dinner.

Kind of a short day but I sure enjoyed myself.

While walking home, I thought of something.

If you are that lucky to be able to participate in two competitions, - A and B - , and you jolly well know that you have absolutely 0% of getting first in A, while you have about 90% of getting a first in B, what would you do?

For me, I would obviously focus on B.
Perhaps, it may be seen as materialistic but I would ove to argue that why enter a competition when you jolly well know that you'll lose?

& sometimes, it's really not at all rewarding when you're greedy and attempt to get first in both hur.
Maybe you won't even get a medal.
AT ALL.

Likewise for friendship..

Why try so hard when you jolly well know that he/she will never appreciate it?
Maybe, just maybe, they'll sense your effort but sometimes, it doesn't really make a difference.

Perhaps they'll feel touched, or guilty for not being able to reciprocate.
However, sometimes, it does no good to be so obstinate and believe that hardwork pays off.

Sometimes, it's just a race that no matter how fast you run, there'll always be someone faster.
Sometimes, t's just a match that already has a winner when it has not even begun.

Friendship is not stated black and clear.
However, go around looking with your heart, and you'll always infd who it those who are true to you.

A day late.

Eh, yesterday went to help my dad deliver fish again..due to some unforseen cirumstances.

Then rushed and rushed to meet Patrina.
Went to buy a smurf for WeiLi and headed to VIVO to scare the shit out of him.

Watched Quarantine with Patrina (impromptu) 'cause we were rather sick of shopping.

After gym with Patrina, I asked her to look at the number of people running in my neighbourhood, and she went, "WAH, there's a dog! So cute!"

LE: I asked you to look at the people leh.

NA: My eyes are for dogs.

LE: Okay~

SUDDENLY, the dog appeared in front of us.
& Patrina passed me the track shoes I lent her.

The dog came sniffing..TOWARDS ME.

It's those big stray dogs.

So I went, "PatriNA~.."

She ignored me and didn't come to my rescue 'cause she's scared too..
Please do remember a minute ago she was still saying it's cute.

& this showed her love to me which is none.
Throw me with some dog when she knows I'm scared.
Pffht.

Today:
Went to deliver fish.
& I went to pass the workers their breakfast.

THEN, a black cat with eerie green eyes keep meowing.
& it's fat too.

The meows are sound as though the cat was in agony and I was darn freaked out.

What if it pounce on me 'cause of the breakfast.
OMG.

Dogs and cats are around me!

But okay, the dogs at ECP yesterday were cute.

Just surprised that how well one can pretend.

But aye, make up does fall.

When the truth appears, it's much more terrifying.

Ya know, if you see a super attitude girl and a demure girl, most will choose to befriend the demure one.
However, on the second thought, perhaps the attitude girl would be a better choice as there is no pretense hur.

Sometimes, when you realised, your friend is just pretending, what can you do?
You just have to be like a fool and act as though nothing has happened.

Ignorance is bliss.
Sometimes, a fool has his blessing and that's why so many act as fools.

You realised, you have a friend whose personality will never be one you accept.
But, you aren't ready to give up on him yet.

World AIDS Day

There's something very very important.
It kind of slipped my mind.

I wanted to post on 1 December, telling all of you that..it's World AIDS Day!

Well...it was.

And, let's all end the HIV and AIDS prejudice.
(:

First, let's start off with the very basics.

What is HIV?

Basically it's just a virus which will eventually lead to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
Patients with AIDS - last stage of HIV - do not actually die of HIV/AIDS, but rather, normal ailments, e.g. pneumonia.
This is because their immune system is greatly impaired by the virus.

So, in simple, they are the ones at a greater risk of dying than us when all of us are in a group.
Yes, this may sound ironic.
But look at how the HIV virus is being transmitted.

TRANSMISSION

Blood Transfusion - 9000 estimated infections per 10000

Childbirth - 2500 estimated infections per 10000

Needle-sharing injection drug use - 67 estimated infections per 10000

Percutaneous needle stick - 30 estimated infections per 10000

Receptive anal intercourse - 50 estimated infections per 10000

Insertive anal intercourse - 6.5 estimated infections per 10000

Receptive penile-vaginal intercourse - 10 estimated infections per 10000

Insertive penile-vaginal intercourse - 5 estimated infections per 10000

Receptive oral intercourse - 1 estimated infection per 10000

Insertive oral intercourse - 0.5 estimated infections per 10000

* Note: All sexual intercourses are under no usage of condoms.

However, nowadays, actual transmission of HIV through blood is greatly reduces due to the stringent regulations of blood donors and transfusions.

The majority of HIV infections are acquired through unprotected sexual relations. Sexual transmission can occur when infected sexual secretions of one partner come into contact with the genital, oral, or rectal mucous membranes of another.

The correct and consistent use of latex condoms reduces the risk of sexual transmission of HIV by about 85%. However, spermicide may actually increase the male to female transmission rate due to inflammation of the vagina.

People who give and receive tattoos, piercings, and scarification procedures can also be at risk of infection. So, be ultra careful and certain of sterilisation process while getting your new ear/belly or anywhere piercings.

A thing to note is HIV has been found at low concentrations in the saliva, tears and urine of infected individuals, but there are no recorded cases of infection by these secretions and the potential risk of transmission is negligible.
Therefore, there is no need to fear being near any people who has contracted HIV / AIDS.

Test for HIV

Currently, a lot of people who are HIV positive do not know that they are.
The HIV virus could be in a person's body for 10 years till it became AIDS.

So, I think, if you think that you could be tested positive, go for a check.
You may wished to avoid the truth or truly not care.
However, it's always better to find out earlier than later.

Cure for HIV/AIDS

Yeapps, sadly, there are no cure for HIV / AIDS.
However, in present, there is a kind of drug which is believe to minimise that damage done by the virus.

So, lives could be prolonged when they go for the HIV check!

Facts:

HIV is NOT the same as AIDS.

There is NO cure for HIV/AIDS.

Sexual intercourse with a virgin will NOT cure AIDS.

Sexual intercourse with an animal will NOT avoid or cure AIDS

AIDS CANNOT be spread through casual contact with an HIV infected individual.

AIDS can be spread through ORAL sex.

HIV is not transmitted via mosquitoes.

Showering after intercourse will NOT prevent AIDS

HIV survives for only a short time outside the body..NOT.

At least one person in Singapore is diagnosed with the HIV virus everyday.

True Stories

I am a mum of two and was diagnosed in 2002. After I told my brother that I was HIV positive he decided that it was his right to tell my older sister. They don't talk to me much now, except to tell me that they think its wrong. I didn't tell my little sister, so she doesn't know.
I have been living away from my family since I was 18 years old. I am now 38. My family (mother, 4 sisters, and 1 brother) cannot accept me for who I am (gay) and having HIV.

I returned home (New Mexico; USA) after being away for sometime; I was in the military and travelled a lot. I did not expect to get HIV. I returned home to be with my family, because I missed them. I wanted love and support.

Being HIV positive is a lonely journey when you have no support. No luck when I told my family. They totally told me, I was no longer part of the family.

My foster son, Michael, aged 8, was born HIV positive and diagnosed with AIDS at the age of 8 months. While still not expected to survive into adulthood, he is now a lively, bright, active and charming individual.

Born to parents who subsequently, and most unexpectedly, discovered that they were both HIV positive, Michael is one of a small but growing number of children in this country who have AIDS.

I took on Michael as a foster child three and a half years ago after his mother died of AIDS and his father became too ill to look after him. I took him into our family home, in a small village in the South West. At first relations with the local school were wonderful and Michael thrived. Only the head teacher and Michael's personal class assistant knew of his illness.

Then someone broke confidentiality and told a parent that Michael had AIDS. That parent, of course, told all the others. This caused such panic and hostility that we were forced to move out of the area.

Michael was no longer welcome at the school. Other children were not allowed to play with him - instead they jeered and taunted him cruelly. One day a local mother started screaming at us to keep him away from her children and shouting that he should have been put down at birth. Michael heard her.
Later Michael said, sadly, 'Mummy, why can't I be human like other children?'

Another thing to note is that often we think that patients who contracted HIV deserve it.
But actually, there are many other occasions which leave the patients themselves shock.

They may have trusted the wrong boyfriend and might not be those who have casual sex.

Life is not about right or wrong actually.
We all make blunders in life, just that they vary in the amplitude.

Be glad that you are the lucky ones who make the small blunders, while there are people who make drastic mistakes.

So, who gave you the right to be biased against them?
Just because you are the lucky ones in life?

Hence, friends who watch you grow and morph to who you are today and are able to accept what you have become is really worth cherishing.

Well, simply, they are the ones who do not give up on you despite seeing your ugly side.
Hmm..Unless you can keep up with the facade for like..10 years?!

That's truly amazing.

Moreover, don't you think, as you grow older, the possibility of you meeting true friends dwindles?

There are more competition as we grow older, in studies, appearance or guys (girls).

No more innocence and purity.
